I decided to create my own style of galaxy shorts. It was the time when I am thinking what to wear in Sinulog (feast of Sto. Nino in CEBU) so i am thinking why not use my imagination and creativity and make a DIY galaxy shorts. So the first thing i did was to research what kind of paint i will be using, a kind of paint that is non washable,because of course we don’t want to create something that you put too much effort and then it will be just temporary, so i want the design to be permanently in my shorts. I learned that some brands is washable like “dong-a”, ” crayola paint”,”acrylic paint” and some other brands. So if you want your DIY to be permanent, you can use these brands: ” tulco”, textile paint”, “fabric paint” .For me, i use the textile paint because it is much cheaper compare to tulco and fabric, just my opinion.
To create galaxy shorts, the materials will be needed is:
- black shorts
- brush
- textile paint or non washable paint(blue,purple/red,white)
- different sizes of sponge
So first, you need to put a little bit of blue in sponge,because i believe in saying that less is more, dab it to the black shorts, just dab and tap it anywhere in your desired look or style, wait for 5-10 mins or until the first color you apply is dry coz’ we don’t want to mix the second color on the first color right. Then after you can put the purple color,tap it and dab it on your preferred style or make your creativity go wild,. then wait again for 5-10 mins to let it dry. Then you can put the last color which is the white, you draw whatever you want that you think it will look like a galaxy, star, meteors, planets and whatever. then let it all dry and there you have it,your own DIY galaxy shorts.
